BRB Still Revealing Nothing About Filly Funtasia

The attempts at finding out what's happened to Filly Funtasia after recent events continue. Tom S Fox has been in contact with Filly Funtasia writer Jymn Magon to hear if he knows anything. Last autumn, he was in Barcelona for a meeting about Filly Funtasia, but apparently he hasn't heard from them in months now.

Meanwhile, BRB themselves have finally responded to one of many messages sent to them about Filly Funtasia - albeit with an answer that only revealed that they seemingly really don't want to reveal anything about Filly Funtasia right now.

I'd like to thank Tom S. Fox and our anonymous Facebooker for sending this in. If you have been in contact with anyone about Filly Funtasia's fate or if you know anything we don't, please send it in to funtasiadaily@gmail.com. Even if it's bad news. At this point, I'd prefer being told that the worst has happened to Filly Funtasia remaining vaporware forever.

I hope the fact that they don’t just come out and say it was canned means there’s still a chance.

At the very least, I'm quite sure that something significant has happened that they're trying to keep a secret. That thing could be a cancellation, but it's possible that it could be some other kind of change to Filly Funtasia. It might even be the case that it's going to be finished by a different company.

While there is no direct evidence for that, all the conspicuous removals of Filly Funtasia content have happened on BRB websites, while the only active promotion of Filly Funtasia that's happened within recent months has been done by Dracco. It would fit the few data points we have, but I didn't really want to write about it in article space since it's so extremely speculative.

But why would they want to keep a cancellation secret?
Bad PR? Hopes to maybe restart development one day? I don't know why exactly, but there are plenty of examples of products that were cancelled but didn't put out cancellation announcements about it until much later. "StarCraft: Ghost" immediately comes to mind.

Again, this is not necessarily what's happened, but considering the worrying signs, I'm not going to discount the possibility.
Dracco may be seeking more funding support for it. Otherwise there wouldn't be much reason to promote it so early back then. 26 episodes of CGI is a huge project, not explicitly tied to the toy lines... Investors might be wondering, what's the purpose? Will it boost sales? Is it risky?
But then, they could have released a Funtasia toyline right now and it would be the best promotion. So why didn't they.

That they've not done a Funtasia-specific toyline is odd. Maybe that's caused some of the licensing issues, with those making the series and those making the toy lines not cooperating well?

Though we did get the Stars and the reboot of Princess, which have obvious links to the show. I hope this isn't about them wanting their new leg symbols added in, heh...

They didn’t promote it early at all; they just kept delaying it.

It is a pity, for uncertainty again
