Turns Out Dracco Does Want a Fandom

Oh, hello. Many of you probably read my first article about the YouTube takedowns and my second (excessively angry) article about the further takedowns. Well, hopefully the situation will now be resolved.

Today, I went to Denmark to talk to the fine folks at Dracco Scandinavia. We had a productive three hour long discussion which touched on a number of topics, which I hope to talk more about in a later article when I have had the time to collect my thoughts properly.

But first, let's talk about the essential one at hand. Together, we all agreed with the conclusion that the current handling of the takedowns has been a mistake and that people who have uploaded fan videos of any kind that are not actually full episodes should not be penalized. They also agreed that if anyone disputes the copyright strike on any such video, they would remove any action taken on such videos and that strikes on such videos would not be made anymore. (If you are still receiving strikes on something that shouldn't, please get in touch with me in the comments below and/or at [email protected]) Therefore, I encourage everyone to file disputes.

If your channel has been taken down completely as a result of this, you will have to follow the procedure outlined in this article.

Also, as you may have noticed, we have removed our links and embeds to episodes, and you will now have to go through other channels to see the episodes. We will still post discussion posts to give people a place to discuss episodes as they air, but we will no longer directly link or embed any videos. Please do not post any such links in the comments, either, as we will then be forced to delete your comment. We had not previously received any requests to cease linking or embedding episodes, but we now mutually agreed that this was the best way forward.

Well, that's all for now! Hopefully we can put this bump in the road behind us now.
